Â
Dear Lackawanna Trail Community,
Â
Â
I hope everyone is enjoying your well deserved summer vacation. It is important for all of us to relax, reflect, and enjoy the break in order to return to school with a fresh outlook in the Fall.
Â
Our faculty will return for staff development on August 26 and 27, and the first day for students is scheduled for August 28th. Upon everyone’s return there will be so much to look forward to.
Â
Some physical upgrades to both buildings are in progress, most notably the Jr.-Sr. High School main office and vestibule area are getting a substantial remodel. A modern, safe, and welcoming design will help us run a more efficient administrative office suite. Most of the cost of this project will be covered by a grant. Also, a brand new state of the art scoreboard will be installed at Lions Pride Stadium. This project was fully funded by generous donors.
Â
An abundance of new employees including administrators, faculty and support staff will join us in the new school year. They are welcome additions and will compliment a strong educational leadership team.
Â
Updates to our Curriculum Guides, Student Handbooks, and other relevant student centered documents will be communicated later in the summer and rolled out in the Fall, and expansion of our PBIS program will continue to grow out of the elementary school into the junior-senior high school.Â
Â
Soon we will mark the one year anniversary of the opening of the PS Bank Wellness Center at Lackawanna Trail Junior-Senior High School. It has proven to be an excellent fitness resource for all of our students in grades seven through twelve thus far, and we will expand upon this in the coming months.Â
Â
Student safety and wellness over the summer break is a top priority. Therefore, beginning in July we will feature summer safety tips and resources on our Facebook page. I hope you can take advantage of this new initiative.
Â
Enjoy your summer!
Â
Â
Sincerely, Â
Â
Â
