3. What are you doing now?
Answer: I currently teach middle school special education students on Camp Lejeune Marine Corps base in North Carolina. I live in Newport, NC with a husband who is a soon-to-be retired Marine Officer, our 18 month old daughter, Brynleigh and our two boxers, Carter and Semper.
4. How has a Trail education helped prepare you for where you are now?
Answer: The education I received at Trail helped prepare me for where I am now in a number of ways. Due to the small population of students, I felt I was more than just another student in most of my teachers’ classrooms. I had the opportunity to be around more of my peers, had I attended a larger high school, I would not have that same experience. Some of my peers had disabilities which interested me and led me to pursue a career in special education. Beyond the classroom, being a part of athletics helped me understand the importance of dedication, being timely and perseverance.
