Thank you for visiting Lackawanna Trail Jr. Sr. High School!
Our school building serves approximately 500 students in grades 7-12. It is hard to believe but we are nearly the halfway point of the 2023-24 school year and our students and staff are doing great things!
Some of our focus areas for 2023-24 include building safety and security, academic achievement, and a focus on College and Career Readiness.
Our fall sports teams delivered one of the most memorable seasons in years including a state medalist in Cross Country, a State medalist in Golf, an undefeated District Championship football team, and a District Champion State Silver Medal winning Field Hockey team! Our marching band had another successful competitive season and the cheerleaders have kept our spirits high!
We pride ourselves on having high expectations for student achievement in the classroom and providing diverse opportunities for learning to all students. At Lackawanna Trail you will find a dynamic blend of rigorous coursework and extra and co-curricular offerings designed to support students of all interests and talents. From industrial arts to interscholastic athletics, visual art to music, our students continually demonstrate high achievement in diverse curricula and extracurricular activities because of their strong work ethic and positivity.
Our graduates are routinely accepted into the area’s best colleges and universities. More importantly, graduates report feeling prepared for the rigor of college coursework and demands of high need jobs. With a wide array of Advanced-Placement and Dual Enrollment courses, Trail graduates are able to enter their first year of college having already experienced post-secondary success! We also have many students who use skills and certificates gained from concurrent enrollment at Lackawanna Trail High School and area Career and Technical Centers to find high-demand jobs in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
As principal, I am proud to showcase the very best our school has to offer. If I can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Sincerely,
Mark Patrick Murphy, PhD
