December’s Featured Alum
Laurel Kinback
Lackawanna Trail Class of 1983
Laurel Kinback is a third grade teacher at Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center. As a graduate of Lackawanna Trail, Laurel says, “My Trail education has prepared me for life in so many ways. The small class sizes and truly caring teachers at Lackawanna Trail allowed for a more personalized education in which I was pushed to reach my true potential.”
Laurel graduated in 1983 in a wonderful and very memorable ceremony that involved a mad dash from the football field to the gymnasium when the skies opened up. When asked about special Trail memories, Laurel shared, “There are so many wonderful and special memories from my years at Trail. Two of the most memorable are a whale watching trip with Rich Ronchi and my many years involved with the marching band. The countless football games and competitions are still some of my fondest memories.”
After graduating from Lackawanna Trail, Laurel first attended Marywood College where she earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management as well as a degree in Fashion Retailing. In 2007, Laurel earned her teaching certification from Keystone College, and in May, 2014, her Masters of Science in Education from Wilkes University.
On a personal note, Laurel is the proud mother of three wonderful young adults, Amanda, Matthew, and Sarah. She enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking and most outdoor activities.
Thank you, Laurel Kinback, for continuing to be a special part of the Lackawanna Trail community!
